I use EmailAlchemy (http://www.weirdkid.com) for converting email from 
an Entourage archive into email which Thunderbird will import (Netscape 
and Eudora).  Converting Entourage email into Unix mbox format is also 
possible.  But importing this is very difficult.  It is much simpler to 
export Entourage email in Eudora format, then import this directly into 
Thunderbird.

EmailAlchemy is NOT a free product.  There is a registration fee of 
about $25US for it, if  you want to be able to convert your mail 
properly.

In addition, EmailAlchemy will convert several other formats to a format 
which Entourage will import directly.
