Re: Rendering primes/learning MathML

I think this list is mainly for mozilla-specific issues rather than
general mathml questions (which are always welcome on www-math'w3.org)
The advice from the working group has always been that the preferred
mathml markup is <mrow><mi>a</mi><mo>'</mo></msup>. Although since most
fonts have a raised prime in the font, missing out the msup may look OK,
it less acutrately reflects the structure.

Usually (often?) in mathematics that is not the case, primes and
diacritics generally, deote some mathematical operation being applied to
the base.
