I think the people who know about the privacy implications are a small 
group.

The people who would be unhappy if they knew about them are a much 
larger group.

Note that prefetching sites the user often visits anyway may be _less_ 
of a privacy issue than prefetching random DNS including for 
never-visited sites, by the way....
