Tools for testing cache requests/responses

Hi everyone,

I need to perform some testing for the new HTTP cache back end and I 
would like to know if there is any tool that I can use to check whether 
the requests are correctly sent and responses are correctly handled.
Any suggestion/guideline is much appreciated.
