Writing an FF MIME-handler in Java

I'm an FF Newbe...

How do I write a MIME-hamdler in Firefox using Java?

I also want the MIME-handler to open a dialog box and reusing the browser's
display capability.

And then I want to communicate over connections already running in Firefox.

Impossible, very hard or doable?
