Now I did some more testing. Lightning integration causes a lot o 
headache. Recent available language packs (from mozilla official) do not 
deal with it. Installing lightning from a created xpi seems to work - 
but will not work. I found no (end)user friendly way to handle this.
Replacement of lightning's chrome.jar can be a solution.

One of the things that works now is OPML-Import. Another feature that's 
activated by default "Message syncronisation" can make trouble in 
connection with some IMAP servers. I prefer to disable this for every 
mail account.
