Nope, worked fine with an old copy of my profile.  I'm thinking 2.35a1 
borked something, or switching back and forth to 2.28.  :-/

In any case, mail/news passwords all seem to be working, after saving 
them again.  Might need to replace the lot from the old copy of the 
profile, but I'll figure that out later.
