Thunderbird 38.6.0: New Problem Loading...!

TB 38.6.0 and FF 36.8.0 were running nicely in eCS2.2b2 until I used 
ANPM to update everything. Now either program will load and run by 
itself, but TB will not load (no error message) if FF is already running 
or in the process of loading. Once TB has failed to load I must reboot 
to get it to load. Resetting the workplace shell is not enough. Is this 
a known problem? Is updating everything with ANPM a dangerous move at 
this stage of development of our Mozilla programs?
