That's correct. Flash and Silverlight are the only 64-bit NPAPI plugins 
that we supported with 64-bit Firefox. Java is allowed on 32-bit ESR and 
blocked on 32-bit release.

If switching from 32-bit Firefox to ESR is too cumbersome for your 
company, you might consider "jumping into" IE just when you need to open 
your Java applet. IE will continue to support NPAPI plugins for a long time.
