where proxy setting is stored

Where mozilla store the proxy setting? I have to read the setting, both from
WIN32 & LINUX, but I can't find where to get it. there are some information
about proxy setting in defaults\prefs\all.js, but after I modify the proxy
setting, the file isn't changed. Anyone can help me? Thx.
