The problem is fixed.
You got me to look at the registry.dat file.

I did have a registry.dat file but it was corrupted. I noticed that mine
was 1,792 KB but my wife's was only 371 KB. when I deleted my
registry.dat file and replace it with my wife's it "Profile Manager"
worked great. the default  was available again and every works as it
should. I could save new profiles and the Profile manager can remember a
profile.

Thanks I was going crazy.
