installing applications to mozilla user chrome dir instead of mozilla/chrome

Hi

When I install applications like googlebar or similar applications
from mozdev, it always tries to install in the mozilla installation
directory.

Is there a way I can force it install in my user chrome directory,
similar to themes ?
