How can a modify the printer list?

Greetings,

I'm looking for a way to modify the printer chooser under Linux in order to 
use other installed printers in mozilla 1.3, but I haven't found anything.
Do you have any hint?
(Well, I don't think of workarounds like xprint or kprinter (as command), I 
just want to modify the existing list. There has to be way....)
