Thank you for your input.

What I meant by public profile is the prefs in the mozilla program
folder.

The private profile is my profile.

The problem is I cannot bring up Mozilla browser at all to do the

tools | launchy | uninstall

As I noted earlier I installed jslib in profile and launchy in the
program

folder.

I just don't want to uninstall everything and reinstall.

Help

I installed Mozilla 1.6 on my XP prof machine. Things were running fine
and the profile transferred from my previous Mozilla 1.5 installation.
I found my email and everything seemed well. Then I wanted to reinstall
some of the extensions I had before. One of them was launchy. It
wouldn't install without jslib. So I installed jslib [foolishly I might
add] on my profile not in the global profile. When I installed launchy,
it did not give me a chance to install it on the local profile. It went
to the global one. Guess what?

I cannot launch the browser any more. The mailnews, chat, address etc.
work fine. Just the browser will not come up. I started reading about
the unstallation of the extensions, specifically launchy and jslib and
I am lost in the thread of where things are installed.

Can anyone point me to some clear directions or a tool to uninstall the
extensions? I don't really want to uninstall Mozilla and reinstall. I
am afraid that the mixup in locations between the public and private
profiles may stop the other portions of Mozilla from working.

thanks a bunch.

I'm unclear what you mean by public vs. private Mozilla profiles.
Regardless, profiles will not be touched when uninstalling Mozilla, nor
when doing a new install of 1.6, which will uninstall the previous
version autmatically, prompting you in the process.

The last install of jslib I did put it into the Mozilla program
directory structure like this:

[drive]:\Program Files\mozilla.org\Mozilla\chrome\jslib

As such, if you do an uninstall/reinstall of Mozilla that jslib
installation should be removed as well. Then you can start over with
installing jslib and launchy.

For launchy, at http://gemal.dk/mozilla/launchy.html is this quote:

"You can uninstall Launchy by going to Tools -> Launchy -> Uninstall"
