I just switched to Thunderbird. I want to be able to save preferences. I followed the directions to create a user.js file in my profile directory. I assumed it is a text doc, which I will add and save preferences. However, now that it has the .js extension, it is listed as a java script file in Win XP and I cannot open it to add any preferences. What am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?
