OK, then it might be gcc or some library it depends on. I'm using 
gcc-3.2 here...
(additionally, I'm optimizing for "-O2 -march=i686 -mcpu=pentiumpro")

That wouldn't explain why your version's not working for me though, 
because I'm able to use other gcc-2.95-compiled apps here...

The reason probably could be my Qt being built with gcc-3.2 as well, I 
guess...
