Plans for mozStorage and improved templates?

Hi all.  As someone that has tried a few times over the years to embrace 
RDF templating and storage, I eagerly await its replacement. :^)  I've 
followed Neil's discussion about it on XULPLanet:

Shaver said at OSCON that this would land shortly after the trunk opened 
for 1.9.  This comment:

...implies that the patches are approved and "this should land as soon 
as the trunk opens for 1.9".

Where is the right place to watch for activity on mozStorage and the XUL 
templates?  Bug #285631?

I'm pretty damn desperate to have the functionality of Neil's screenshot 
and code snippet. :^)  But, not desperate enough to apply the patch and 
make a build of my own.
