Mozilla on i686 uClibc 0.9.24

I would like to use Mozilla as the browser front end on a new project.  I am
using a Via Mini-ITX with a C3 Processor (i686 compatible).  I am using the
Linux 2.6.5 kernel (for flash device support) and started with the uClibc
(0.9.24)  prebuilt tool chain (http://www.uclibc.org/toolchains.html).  I
have gtk2 compiled and installed along with the package list below.
Eveything boots well and runs on the target platform (gtk-demo runs great!).

I have manged to get Mozilla & Firefox 1.6 to compile and install binaries
but they will not run (with about 90M free RAM).  From strace and gdb
analysis it appears that there are serious memory issues.

Has anyone had any luck installing a Mozilla client with a system similar to
this?

Which is the best Mozilla distribution to start with?
