I just checked in a fix for a regression that was caused some weeks ago. 
    See bug 289250 for details.  In a nut shell, you will need this fix 
in order for spatial navigation to work -- either apply the patch to 
your tree or update to the tip.  (I would to the former as today the 
tree opened for a3 changes and might be unstable for a bit.)
