Hello! I don't know if this is the proper place for this comment. It is really directed to browser developers, although svg users would benefit most. Is it possible to add a tool to Firefox that would allow selection of an arbitrary quadrangle and subsequently store the bitmap - or much better: a png file - of the selected area on the Clipboard? This feature exists in Adobe Reader for pdf displays. Such a tool would be extremely useful for handling SVG. In that way an SVG image (or part of it) can be easily pasted into programs like Word or Powerpoint or its OpenOffice equivalents. We can of course wait until such programs accept SVG code, but that may never happen. Imaging how immensely more useful programs with SVG output would become, e.g. for educational purposes, when students are required to generate a report with graphic results pasted in. I think such a feature would really boost the impact of SVG! Herman www.hjcb.nl
