If you have mbox files and you wish to access mails stored in those
files from Mozilla, you can try the following:

* Make sure Mozilla is not running!
* Go to your mozilla mail directory. On my FreeBSD box it is in my home
dir, ~/.mozilla/default/random_dirname_here/Mail/mailserver.name.here/
* Copy one or more of your mbox files here, while making sure that you
don't overwrite any existing files (Inbox for example, is very easy to
overwrite!). Make sure that you only copy the mbox file and no
accompanying indexfiles.

* Now, start Mozilla Mail&News and you should be able to see a new
mailfolder (or as much as the number of mbox files you copied over)
containing your archived mails.
You can move mail from these mailfolders to a newly created empty
mailfolder if you want to make sure that the mails are treated in the
mozilla way.

This usually works for me, although I had problems before with mails
including attachments and inline images.

Hope this helps!
