I downloaded and installed xprint-2004-07-07-release_009_001-0.9.001.i386.rpm on a RH 7.3 workstation. After what appeared to be a successful build and install I lost my /etc/init.d symbolic link and failed to startup. I repaired that but I'm now unable to start KDE though thankfully gdm still works. What likely went wrong and more importantly how can I repair or reinstall KDE et. al. without being lame and doing a whole 7.3 reinstall or upgrade to newer version? billk
