I tried to build Mozilla 1.7.5 from source in Solaris 9_x86, using SunONE Studio 8 compilers. The glib/gtk libraries were those from /usr/sfw/lib. Compilations worked well, but the resulting program never displays any images, not even the button icons and the [+] and [-] icons in the Edit->Preferences menu. If I force loading an image from a web site, an infinite (?) loop of opening new (empty) windows occurs. When using the prebuilt binaries from mozilla.org, mozilla/releases/mozilla1.7.5/contrib/mozilla-i386-pc-solaris2.8.tar.bz2, this works well. But I want to compile myself because of some extensions. Even using the same configure parameters as in the above "official" build did not help; neither did the installation of the most recent compiler patches. -- Hans Werner Strube [email protected] (remove .XPAM) Drittes Physikalisches Institut, Univ.
