Firefox does not start anymore

Hi all,

i am using firefox 1.0 (en) for linux (tarball version) on SuSE 9.1.

Now firefox does not start anymore. When i try to start firefox on 
commandline, the message "*** loading the extensions datasource" is 
dropped every second until i cancel with "CTRL-C". Is there any logfile 
or debug mode to figure out, what's going wrong? Couldn't get any infos 
about that from the FAQ.

BtW: I have seen this behaviour with Mozilla 1.7.3 on SuSE 9.1, too.
