You have another option, rebuild a mozilla nightly with qt toolkit, not sure 
if thats enough to allow the KDE setting to take over or not, but would be 
worth to try.

I think thats for most systems has only one toolkit, the *nix based ones that 
uses X Windows Systems are those that has more than one and mozilla can be 
built against qt, xlib, gtk+ and gtk2.
