mozilla and acrobat reader

I usually compile mozilla from cvs sources.  Acrobat reader does not load
in a mozilla window on my system.  What happens is the pdf appears to load
fine but in the shell used to launch mozilla I get:

I've tried a few things I found googling but an stumped.

I am using Acroread 5.0.10 and Mozilla 1.8b
