pdf attachments in netscape 7.2

Pdf files opens fine in Netscape with Acrobat reader, but only those I 
opens on internet. Pdf files stored localy, opens in netscape as 
meaningless nonsense.
The same happens when mailing pdf attachments to somebody: the pdf file 
converts itself to something like a severe forgotten language. 
Preferences-> Helper apllications->application/pdf is set to default 
application (Acrobat reader)

What can be wrong ?

I run netscape 7.2 on SuSE 9.2
