What is the magic to set up 'Emacs' style key-bindings in Mozilla (both
Mozilla 1.2 [under RedHat 7.3] and Mozilla 1.7.7 [under White Box Linux
3.0]).

(Upgrading to Firefox is not an option under RH 7.3 and I have a pile of
reasons, include particular hardware and software for not upgrading my
RH 7.3 system at present.)

I particularly want to at least disable the Ctrl-E accelerator. I have
no interest in editing web pages with Mozilla (I have other far better
tools for that purpose). I have Ctrl-E 'hard-wired' into my fingers
and it is a real pain in the butt to have to *wait* for the Mozilla page
editor to come up and load itself whenever I hit the key combo.
