Avoiding global Firefox crashes

Is there a way to run separate instances of Firefox so that if one FF window
crashes, they don't all crash? Using Firefox 1/KDE/Mandrake 10.1. I often
have several FF windows open, each with MANY tabs, and it's a pain to bring
it all back.
