I found out that something in ~/.mozilla/firefox is causing this problem. When I delete that directory and start over the rendering bug goes away. When I import new firefox settings from seamonkey the bug comes back (Seamonkey is displaying the same problem, so whatever it is, it gets imported along with the rest of the settings.) Any idea what kind of 'setting' would cause an html page to render incorrectly?
