As far as I know, IMAP messages are stored on the server, not on the
client side.  I suspect that this is the main reason that ISP's don't
supply IMAP mail servers -- too much disk space!

I have two IMAP accounts and the amount of disk space they use on my
machine is truly trivial.  No need to compact such small folders.

Any other opinions would be welcome.
