And MS Windows have always allowed for downloading of stuff in the background with out you knowledge or consent. On the Mac you either must go after updates or upgrades; or if the program has an automatic way of looking up and downloading, your asked whether you want to proceed so if you download something and have it installed you have to give it permission. So if you add somethin untoward in your system its 100% your fault with your knowledge.
