Have you ever watched the sequence of dialogs when you go to print a message on Thunderbird? You get a little status dialog saying "Preparing...", following by the "Choose a printer" dialog, followed by a SEPARATE little status dialog saying "Preparing...", followed by a THIRD little status dialog saying "Preparing...". Printing is a standalone operation. I should be able to move on to the next message or the next folder while the printing is going on. Given that, the "Preparing..." message boxes are both useless and invasive. Further, every other mail program I use has had a shortcut method for "print to the current printer" that avoids ALL dialogs. Usually, Ctrl-P and the printer icon go straight to the current printer, while the File->Print menu brings up the print dialog. Tbird has no such shortcut. -- - Tim Roberts, [email protected] Providenza & Boekelheide, Inc.
