Hello, After a power failure today my Mozilla 1.6 browser failed to come back alive. It magically forgot it's proxy settings I fixed that by hand. It also removed the Mozilla.org, Mozilla.zine, and Mozdev.org from the line next to the "bookmarks" button on the line above the browser window. This I can probably live without but would like to know hat happened to it. What really frosts me is that my bookmarks seem to have reverted to some time long ago (6-12 months ago) All of my bookmarks saved since this point seem to have disappeared! So, What happened to them? Can they be retrieved and if so how do I do it? I went looking for the bookmark file in what should be my current profile and found it and it had today's date on it but the information in it was definitely old. One of the ones that I use regularly changed about 9 months ago and this one now points to the old now wrong address. It appears that Mozilla lost it's brain and overwrote the current bookmark file with an old one. I would have almost expected this kind of behavior out of an 80's DOS program. I lived through that nightmare. Programs that lost data for users received such a drumming from the media and everyone concerned that they either quickly mended their ways or were soon out of business. After this episode I am quickly loosing my taste for the Open Source Movement. As bad as Microsoft is I can't remember loosing data because of a program crash. Thanks, Steve
