additional text/* mime types in firefox

Is there some way to tell mozilla firefox to handle some additional text/* mime 
types as if they were text/plain? For example, samba.org returns text/x-csrc 
and text/x-chdr, which are just plain text, but have to be viewed in an 
external viewer because firefox doesn't know these mime types. Thanks.
