Firefox 1.04 not handling 2GB+ files well

I am experiencing some problem with Firefox when downloading a 2GB file.

When it gets to the point where it is 2GiB, all counters go negative, 
and quite often, it will either crash, or report that the source file is 
not availablec.

Is this a bug, as Firefox is the only browser that is experiencing this.
