I looked at the settings dialog, and mine was not greyed out.  But I did 
not have all of the boxes above checked, just some.  Acting on a hunch, 
I tried checking all the boxes.  As soon as I checked "Saved Passwords", 
the "Ask me..." setting was greyed out.  Since I don't actually /want/ 
to clear passwords, I'm not going to try it myself, but I suggest that 
you uncheck "Saved Passwords", change the value of the "Ask me..." 
setting, and then re-check "Saved Passwords".  It might work.  Or FF 
might not be willing to clear saved passwords without asking.
