Is is possible to set the width of the textbox in the upload component?

Is is possible to set the width of the textbox in the upload component? At the moment it's a dinky little box & just about any url (http or file) will mean that the vast bulk of the url is hidden. I've tried putting it into a table row & set the cell to take 70% of the page but that has no effect on it's size. TIA Adam
