xhtml and java applet

Hi,

A java applet is not showing in firefox 3.0.6 (Windows Vista) when the=20
file has xml extension and works when the file has html (or xhtml)=20
extension.
The 2 files are the same and conformant to xhtml strict according to w3c=20
validator. The files and java applet are attached here in a zip archive.
I could not find anything in the list archive.

Could anyone tell me what I am missing here?
