I've recently updated the project page with an up-to-date status: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xforms/status.html And validating that and finding bugs would be a great help. Some nice samples would also be good. The easiest way to get started is through IRC. Depending on the timezone you're in, log in to #xforms in irc.mozilla.org and get hold of one of us.
