[Enigmail] mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=true

Hello,

Enigmail re-sets mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=false when thunderbird
starts up. It's not totally clear to me of the reason for this, but I
think it has something to do with inline PGP.

For years, I've been manually editing enigmail.js in my extensions
directory to not do this, every time I update the extension version. It
seems as though the most recent update I've done has switched over to
keeping everything in an .xpi file, so it is even more of a nuisance for
me to override this setting.

I never use inline PGP, only PGP/mime, so I don't really understand the
reason for this setting. I've had zero problems over the years
forcefully re-enabling mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=true . Signed
unencrypted flowed e-mails also work great. Is there any way you can not
do this for people who use PGP/mime exclusively? How prevalent is inline
PGP these days? Could you make a global "Use PGP/mime" setting that uses
it for every identity and then not force
mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=false, or at least give people an option
in the settings to not force mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=false with a
nice disclaimer?

This mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed=false thing is the one an only
drawback I see of having enigmail installed. Everything else enigmail
does to thunderbird seems very passive to me (which is the right way to
be). I've been very impressed with all of the other improvements that
have been coming to enigmail over the last few years!

Thanks,
