I assume that the problem is that Enigmail 2.0 has issues with importing
ECC keys. I don't think that it makes any difference if Irina would use
the latest version of Enigmail or the last one working on Thunderbird
52. The changes I made were not in that area at all.

That is not the point. I don't know if the latest version of Enigmail
2.0 works on Thunderbird 52 because I didn't test it. And I can't claim
compatibility with something untested.

I support Enigmail on actively maintained versions of Thunderbird -
nothing more, and nothing less. If a Thunderbird version is not
supported anymore, it doesn't make sense to me to still create updates
of Enigmail for it, because my time I can spend on Enigmail is limited.
