So if there is any corruption in there that's causing the problem, it will be preserved, too. The only cure that's worked for me is a complete uninstall followed by an install from a fresh download. (I use Revo Uninstall, but there are others). That requires saving the Profile and copying all or part of its contents into the new Profile created by the fresh install.
