Than I can't answer it I'm afaid - as I've got no idea what "valid" is supposed to mean. Personally I accept it throwing an exception in response to a circulary-referenced object as valid. I also regard the filtered result as non-valid, as it doesn't represent the sourced object anymore. Than again, there might be situations in which the latter result is still usable, and with it becomes valid again ... Regards, Rudy Wieser
