Dave, > If these objects are validly recursive They are provided by the FireFox program by way of a callback to whomever installs the "observer". So I must assume that its valid. Besides that, the page you referred to shows a method which will (try to, but in my case fails) remove any circular references. Which, to me, means that its not something abnormal to enounter. > That recursion must have been finite, or you wouldn't have got a response. :-) You're playing rather fast-and-loose with that "response" definition. Getting an error thrown is definitily *a* response. Just not the normal, "valid" (usable) one. As for a *non*-finite recursion ? How would you be able to make one ? At some point or another you would run outof process memory - most likely causing the OS to shoot the whole program (in this case Firefox) down. > Or it could be a bug. Seeing that its in an object that Firefox itself generated and presented to me, I don't think so. Also just think of a parent and child object, where the child refers back to its parent (which is not uncommon). Presto, problem. Regards, Rudy Wieser
