Hmm! Nothing heard about Ron, but your post reminded me that I often 
wonder what's happened to Jay Garcia who was a regular poster and of 
great assistance on the Netscape groups on the secnews server, the 
pre-incarnation of these newsgroups, back about the turn of the Century.

I guess, eventually, we will all just be "not heard from in a long time" 
on these newsgroups!! ;-(
