on news.m.o the only groups I subscribe to are m.s.firefox, 
m.s.thunderbird and m.general, I don't know how active any of the others 
are, in fact I just looked at m.s.seamonkey and notice they didn't even 
get the courtesy of the death notice from Chris.

Even if the alt.comp.mozilla.* groups go ahead, they're not likely to 
exist before news.m.o goes dark.  So in the meantime can I suggest 
"alt.fan.mozilla" as a place we can congregate, it's fairly dead but it 
exists, and nobody can take it away ...
