Strong XUL developer wanted to start-up
-------------------------------------------

* WHO WE ARE:

A 2 person-team with a project in digital assets management,
based on the Mozilla platform. Background in enterprise and
internet software.

* WHAT WE NEED:

One experienced Mozilla developer to join the team.
We already have the foundations (mostly Python + some XUL).

Let's be upfront: there is no money in this - for now.
See details below.

* REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong skills in XUL, Javascript, Python, RDF (C++ and XPCOM useful).
- MacOS developer would be ideal - current prototype runs on Windows
and Linux.
- Comfortable working with openSource tools such as Subversion, etc.
- Interest in digital imaging, metadata management and user interfaces.
- Team player, driven, self-sufficient.
  ... attitude OK if you can make up for it on the technical side!

* WHERE?

Someone local to the San Francisco Bay Area (USA) would be ideal.
But remote collaboration is an option.

* WHEN?

Starting ASAP.
We are giving ourselves a 6-month window to take off or die.

* WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER TO YOU?

Hopefully an exciting project. And, of course, shares in the venture.

We do not expect anyone to quit their job for this at this
point - we haven't (can't afford it unless we can attract
funding; and this requires completion of prototype + business
plan). But serious time commitment is required. That means
long evenings and short nights in our case.

* WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER TO THE MOZILLA COMMUNITY?

Frankly not much at this point... Should everything work as planned
we'd like to open-source some of this work and give back to the
community.
Seriously. We do believe that commercial and open-source are not
incompatible.

Hope this will seem of interest to someone.
