Hello localizers, I'm excited to announce that we've just exposed the first batch of strings for Fenix, Mozilla's new Android browser! You can find them under the Android-l10n Pontoon project[1]. You can filter the resources using "fenix" in the Pontoon search field (and you’ll see that they correspond to the strings inside your locale folder, that start by mozilla-mobile/fenix/…). In order for the Fenix browser to appear completely localized, you should work on *both* the android-components (“a-c”) and Fenix strings that live inside the Android-l10n project. For example, Fenix uses a-c strings for things such as error messages. Just as I mentioned for a-c strings in my previous email [2], we are only exposing these strings to a subset of locales for now. We still need to add some locales to android-l10n in order to obtain locale parity on both Fenix and a-c. This should be done shortly and I will notify here when it's done. The targeted date for localizing and testing these strings is* *April 30th**, which is the deadline for getting your work into the Beta version. You should be able to check your work every day on the Nightly version of the browser, which is unfortunately still available only for NDA contributors (I’ll be reaching out to locale managers to give them instructions for access if needed). Note that there is no in-app locale switcher yet - it will be tackled in an upcoming version. Let me know if you have any questions! cheers delphine [1] https://pontoon.mozilla.org/projects/android-l10n/ [2] https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.l10n/uh-Q4ypOklk _______________________________________________ dev-l10n mailing list [email protected] https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/dev-l10n
