dear kevin,

thank you so much for your quick reply. anyway i had tried both x11
and xv and neither of them does the work.

just to have an example, i'm working on this stream

mms://vipmms9.yacast.net/bfm_bfmtv

i can watch it and resizing it without problems as i start mplayer
from command line.

ps: i'm not envolved in any way in that video broadcasting, i hope it
doesn't bother anyone if i posted that link.
